General Information
- The Montessori Children's House is located in historic Fayville village which is part of the town of Southboro. It is easily accessible from the Massachusetts turnpike, Rte. 9, Rte. 495, and Rte. 85.
- The school was founded in August 1982. It is an "S" cooperation chartered under the laws of and licensed by the Massachusetts Department of Early Care and Education.
- Children ages two years nine months through their kindergarten year are grouped together in one classroom. There are about twenty children in a class with two teachers.
- All children attend school five days a week, either in the morning (8:30 - 11:30) or in the afternoon (12:30 - 3:30) from September through the first full week in June. There is a two week winter break in December and a week long break in both February and April.
- Newsletters are sent out to keep parents informed of the events and topics of study at school. Parents' Nights are scheduled throughout the year.
- Parent Conferences are held twice a year; however, the staff is available daily to speak with parents. Special events are organized throughout the year to bring parents, children and staff together: all school picnic, parent visitation days, grandparent day, and special events hosted by parents, etc.
- Information on safety, childcare options, health issues, and lead poisoning; as well as information on Montessori philosophy, Montessori elementary, and Montessori teacher training are available at the school. Parents are encouraged to visit the school and observe their child at work.
- The Montessori Children's House does not discriminate in providing services to children and their families on the basis of race, religion, cultural heritage, political beliefs, marital status, disability, sexual orientation, or national origin.
- The school does not provide transportation, but will assist parents in forming safe and efficient car pools.
